Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 24, 2026
TL;DR: CloudDL only uses your Google account to identify you and to save your downloaded files to your own Google Drive. We do not collect, store, or share your personal data.
1. Who We Are
CloudDL is a personal cloud download manager that lets you download files from URLs, YouTube, streaming sites, and torrents — saving them directly to your Google Drive. The service is operated by Malik Billu and is not affiliated with Google LLC.
2. Information We Collect
When you sign in with your Google account, we access the following data only for the purpose of running the service:
- Name & Email Address — used to display your account info on the dashboard and to verify you are an authorized user.
- Profile Picture — displayed on your dashboard. Not stored on our servers.
- Google OAuth Access Token — stored temporarily in your browser's
localStorageto keep you signed in. It is never sent to any server other than Google's own APIs.
3. How We Use Google Drive
CloudDL requests the drive.file scope from Google. This means:
- We can only create and upload files that CloudDL itself generates (your downloaded files).
- We cannot read, list, modify, or delete any of your existing Google Drive files.
- Files are uploaded directly from our temporary server (Google Colab) to your Drive using your own access token.
4. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not have a database or persistent user accounts.
- We do not use cookies.
- We do not use analytics tracking (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties.
- We do not store your files — downloads are deleted from the server immediately after being uploaded to your Drive.
5. Third-Party Services
CloudDL uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Sign-In & Drive API — for authentication and file storage.
- Ngrok — to create a public tunnel to our backend server. Network traffic passes through Ngrok's infrastructure.
6. Data Retention
Your session token (access token) is stored in your browser's localStorage and expires automatically within 1 hour. It is deleted immediately when you click "Sign Out". No user data is stored on our servers beyond the active session.
7. Your Rights
You can revoke CloudDL's access to your Google account at any time by visiting Google Account Permissions and removing CloudDL from the list of connected apps.
8. Children's Privacy
CloudDL is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
